When our dear friends proposed to spend a week at their house in Marrakesh, our only question was: “When will we be arriving ?”
Yeessss, the IRYS family is like that … We are always ready for a trip!
And when you see their magnificent villa in the Palmeraie area, we do not hesitate even less!
Marrakesh is a very pretty town surrounded by mountains. In April, everything is green, it is really something to see… But Marrakesh is also the city of the client service, of the culinary pleasures, etc ..
Everyone would benefit from that, parents & children.
Raf and I immediately took advantage of the royal service that Marrakesh can offer by enjoying a hammam-scrub-massage.
As our host friend said, this presentation should be reimbursed by the Social Security Administration! I do not see any better place to relax and unwind. We should ignore antidepressants and other poisons to prescribe only hammams and massages… What a joy! 😉
Our little paradise: Les Bains de l’Alhambra. Lost in the Casbah, we relax in the individual hammam where a lady comes to make you a body scrub and then road to the massage!
And how about the kids you will tell me? What did they do during this hammam session?
They took advantage of the Kid’s Club at the Pullman Hotel. In Marrakesh, several hotels offer the activities of their Kid’s club to non-residents of the hotel.
In a safe spot and supervised by several animators, they were able to go karting, making pedalo &trampoline, feeding animals, etc.
Lunch is buffet style where they can choose whatever they want. I think this was the best vacations moment for Dayi… 😆
With the kids, we went to ‘La Ferme Berbère‘. A pretty guest house 100% eco-friendly. We loved the concept of the daily package. We took advantage of the pool and lunch (+ snack) prepared with the products of their vegetable garden. A true delight!!
Another kitchen that seduced us. The restaurant Amal. An association that helps women in difficulty. The dishes are delicious. The menu changes every day. So, we went 3 times! 😛
We visited the Merdersa Ben Youssef, the Palace of Lella Bahia, the Saadian tombs, a tannery. It is magic…
Marrakesh is also nature! Small day spent in The Ourika Valley in the middle of the mountains. At 40km from the city, one crosses on a road surrounded by red and green. We arrive at the edge of the creek where lined restaurants offer tagines (chicken, goat, kefta ..). On the program, lunch and small games in the water with the kids.
Later, we took a good breath of fresh air by heading to the ski resort. We took the road again 30 minutes and climbed on the top of Oukaimeden, the ski resort. I can let you imagine the white site in winter with people skiing everywhere…
With no skiing, the kids took a little ride on the back of a donkey and I played “The Little House On The Prairie”.
